FEATURED SNAPSHOT OCTOBER2008:

New Governance

Original ideas in any area are rare, in corporate governance they are even more elusive. We are working with a team to bring a new theory of corporate governance to light. The theory is still under wraps while we build out the environment and experience to accompany it so stay tuned for more on this early in 09.

SNAPSHOT 1: JAN 2008

A well-respected local law firm was on the way up and wanted to get a better understanding of their value to their clients and the culture that made them a popular choice among lawyers looking for a better work and life balance. Brandology was engaged to help them dig into what the true meaning of "great service" was within the firm and how that connected up across the various areas of operation – such as human resources, practice groups and client relationship management. As a secondary project, Brandology worked with the client and their web developers to ensure that the ideology of service was more than words on a page but built into the very functionality and structure of their new site.

Working across distance is always a unique challenge. The client is a national non-profit located in Washington DC. As the professional representative group for addiction treatment and justice system professionals, the organisation had become synonymous with the movement they advocated for – they needed to find and articulate their own uinique brand value so they could be more effective in their advocacy and in their professional support. After 9 months, many thousands of air miles, hundreds of minutes of interviews, intensive workshops with the internal teams, the results are nearly in... stay tuned.

SNAPSHOT 3: JUN 2008

The pro-bono work we do is just as important to us as our paid work. One issue that is especially near and dear to our hearts is the environment, so when the state peak environment group asked for our help we jumped at the chance. The challenges for our environment have never been greater and so to is the pressure on leading environment groups to hold the government and industry accountable for their actions and inaction. Brandology is working with them to help develop a clear understanding of why they exist and what their promise is. Not only necessary for them to be effective on the outside, it is an imperative step so they can to build strength of purpose on the inside and focus their passion and energy.

SNAPSHOT 4: AUGUST 2008

A local entrepreneur found himself at a cross-roads. After a professional crisis hit home, a little reevaluation of where he was headed and why seemed like the right idea. Working with Brandology over 4 weeks, we dug into his past and present to find some answers about what he believed and why and how that translated to his day-to-day actions. The resulting Brand Map has become a guide as he navigates the myriad of new opportunities he has coming his way, and has given him a new tool for decision-making so his actions stay aligned with his beliefs – the best way to strengthen his personal Brand "id".
